My story

Hello, I’m Amirah.

I have always felt drawn to animals and their wellbeing. I originally intended to attend veterinary school, but when life led me toward a different path, I found another meaningful way to stay involved in animal care: creating Paws, Claws & Critters.

My background in biological science and ecology shapes how I approach care—with close observation, respect for behavior, and attention to the details that help an animal feel secure. I’m most experienced with dogs and cats, and I also welcome clear, beginner-friendly routines for small mammals, reptiles, birds, and aquatic pets.

Because PCC is intentionally personal, clients communicate directly with the person caring for their animals. I take time to learn each household’s routine and keep owners updated while they’re away.
